Saturday, November 4, is Scouting for Food, a nationwide annual food drive organized by the Boy Scouts of America. Since 1995, local Arlington scouts from the Chain Bridge District of the National Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America have collected more than 1 million pounds of food for AFAC!
On Saturday, October 28, scouts will drop off door hangers to neighborhood homes in Arlington. If you receive a bag, please consider donating non-perishable food items and leave your bagged donations by your door by 8:30 am on Saturday, November 4.
All donated food in Arlington will go to AFAC, whose mission is to provide supplemental groceries to all Arlington families in need. AFAC currently serves 3,200 families each week. If you do not receive a door hanger and still would like to participate, you can leave donations at the following library branches: Aurora Hills, Central, Cherrydale, Shirlington, and Westover.
