Volunteer Spotlight: Drivers’ Assistants

AFAC’s drivers are constantly busy picking up and dropping off food throughout the day from off-site distributions and grocery stores.  Off-sites with a larger client base require more help from volunteers.  We are looking for people who are strong, 18 years old or older, and fully vaccinated to help our drivers!

The shifts are longer, usually 3-4 hours, and are physically demanding.  In between food deliveries, you’d help staff in the warehouse.  This could be sorting donations in the prep room or helping unload a food donation.

We recommend trying once to see if you like it.  There are shifts in the morning and afternoon every weekday varying each day.  If this interests you, check the volunteer calendar for availability to ride with Bernard, Brandon, and Jonathan!

We also want to highlight our current Drivers’ Assistants. They do so much to help our drivers, and they have a great relationship with all our warehouse staff members. Thanks drivers’ helpers for making our offsite distributions possible!
