Volunteer Appreciation Week Recap

April 17-21 was National Volunteer Appreciation Week. To show our appreciation, AFAC put together some special treats for our volunteers last week with the help of some local businesses. Among the highlights were: Sweet treats from Captain Cookie & The Milkman and Village Sweet, a visit from some of AWLA’s furry friends, coffee and pastries from Starbucks in Crystal City, baklava and gift cards from Lebanese Taverna, raffles for tickets to Signature Theater, tea at the Ritz-Carlton in Pentagon City, and smoothies from South Block!

Although Volunteer Appreciation Week only comes around once per year, AFAC always relies on the help of our wonderful volunteers. AFAC volunteers provide AFAC with 40,000+ volunteer hours each year. That’s the equivalent of approximately 20 full-time employees. We would not be able to complete our mission without our volunteers. Thank you for volunteering!
