Empty Bowls
Soup'er Bowl Sunday Community Fundraiser
AFAC invites you to join us at our 13th Annual Empty Bowls – a luncheon fundraiser featuring many delicious homemade soups made by chefs from local restaurants and beautiful hand-thrown bowls created by local area artists. Each guest enjoys a luncheon of soup, bread, dessert, and chooses a hand-made bowl to take home as a reminder that there are many members in our community that live weekly with empty bowls.
Shining a Light on Hunger
AFAC's Annual Spring Celebration
Shining a Light on Hunger is AFAC’s largest annual fundraising celebration held at the Army Navy Country Club. You can help Shine a Light on Hunger and honor those in our community – the many individuals, families, corporations, and community partners – who contribute to AFAC’s success. Celebrate over 35 years of fulfilling our mission with food, drinks, music, and fun!
Stamp Out Hunger
Nationwide Letter Carriers Food Drive
On the second Saturday of May, your local letter carriers collect non-perishable food items to help those in need right here in Arlington! You can help Stamp Out Hunger by leaving your non-perishable food donations by your mailbox the morning of the food drive to be picked up and delivered to AFAC. This late-Spring food drive comes at an important time for school children in their families who rely on school food programs. With schools closed and these essential meal services paused, the ability to provide food for their families becomes a pressing issue.

Scouting For Food
Boy Scouts Food Drive
With the assistance of Boy Scout Troops and Cub Scout Packs from the Chain Bridge District of the National Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the Scouting for Food Drive is the largest single day food drive benefitting AFAC. This partnership has collected over 1 million pounds of food since 1995. Scouting for Food is held on the second Saturday of every November and engages the entire community.
