#StuffTheBus Event

As part of this year’s Hunger Action Month in September, AFAC, Arlington Transit, and Giant Foods are once again teaming up to take action against hunger by challenging the community to “stuff” STAR (Specialized Transit for Arlington Residents) buses full of non-perishable food items.

This year’s #StuffTheBus event will be held on Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25, at two different Giant Food stores in Arlington, from 10:00am to 4:00pm. STAR vehicles will be parked in front of the Giant stores to fill with food donations. Volunteers will be at the grocery stores to collect donations.

AFAC’s current most needed food items are:

  • Canned vegetables, soups, beans, and tuna
  • Cereal (unopened boxes)
  • Family-size Pasta boxes
  • Peanut Butter

Participating Giant Food Locations:

  • Giant Food Lyon Village: 3115 Langston Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201
  • Giant Food Virginia Square: 3450 Washington Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201.

AFAC will distribute all collected food to those who rely on our free supplemental groceries.
