Shirlington Crest AFAC Holiday Fundraiser

Dear Shirlington Crest Residents,

The Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) is asking individuals and groups to conduct fundraisers to help AFAC feed those in need during the holiday season.

AFAC’s mission “…is to feed our neighbors in need by providing dignified access to nutritious supplemental groceries.” Since 1988, the Arlington Food Assistance Center remains dedicated to its simple but critical mission of obtaining and distributing groceries, directly and free of charge, to people living in Arlington, VA, who cannot afford to purchase enough food to meet their basic needs.

I would like the Shirlington Crest community to contribute to this very worthy organization, that just happens to be our neighbor. My goal is to raise at least $500.  That comes out to an average of $3.00 per residence.  I’m starting the fundraising campaign with an initial $50 contribution.  If we get nine (9) other residences to do the same, we’ll quickly meet this goal.  I’m hoping we can raise significantly more than the goal.  Please join your Shirlington Crest neighbors in helping AFAC feed those in need during the holiday season.
