Otteni Backpack Buddies

Hi everyone! We know that this isn’t the usual time of year for our AFAC food drive but with the spread of corona virus, clients at AFAC need our help now!

Our family is still actively involved in the Backpack Buddies program and we have talked to AFAC about their new needs so that they can maximize their purchasing power with their vendors. While AFAC always appreciates food donations, they now have to let every item sit for days to get rid of the germs. Instead of collecting jars of peanut butter and jelly, we have decided to collect monetary donations, which will go to purchasing grocery kits, hiring new part-time staff (mostly laid-off restaurant workers), renting refrigerated trucks and continuing to supply backpack kits to kids even though they aren’t in school.
