KICKIN COVID: CHARITY MARATHON

Please join us – the Arlington Soccer Association (ASA) 2007G Former Development Academy (DA) Girls soccer team – in raising funds to help feed our neighbors in need during these hard times!

WHAT: KICKIN COVID: A CHARITY MARATHON!
Kickin COVID is a charity marathon – 26.2 miles – to raise money for AFAC.

WHY
COVID-19 has led to a very large increase in the number of Arlington families struggling with basic needs, such as food. We want to help local families. As a group of athletes, we will do what we do best: work as a team! We will run a charity marathon and donate all of the proceeds to AFAC. AFAC provides free groceries to Arlington residents in need. AFAC is an amazing organization that is committed to maintaining a safe, supportive, and respectful space for all members of our community.

WHO
Who is raising money: Each teammate will reach out to family and friends (YOU) to ask for sponsorship.

Who will the money support: 100% of donated funds will support the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC). Every single penny.

WHEN
The deadline to donate is May 16, 2020. The marathon weeks are May 3 – May 15.

HOW
We will run 26.2 miles over two weeks. Some of us may choose to run two 13.1 mile runs, while others may pace themselves with a couple of miles per day. We are a group of 12-13 year old girls, so many of us have never run a marathon before, but we know we can do it! We will use an app on our phones to log our runs. We really miss being on the soccer field, but will train to be in top shape for when we can get back on that field! And, there is no better motivation to do it than raising money to help local families in need.

We know that everyone is doing their part to help in these difficult times. No donation amount is too small – we appreciate every single penny. Thank you for helping our team make a difference off the field!
