JSI/WEI Staff Fundraiser for Arlington Food Assistance Center

Everyone has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, and many of us know someone who has lost a loved one or a job. While this has been a trying time for all, it is also a time during which we are reminded that we are incredibly lucky to be in a position to help. Let’s do something positive to fight the trauma that so many people are facing.
We’re organizing a series of fundraisers for US-based non-profit organizations that support the communities where JSI/WEI’s offices are based. For each of these fundraisers, please consider donating the cost of your daily or weekly commute, lunch, or coffee breaks that could now help make a difference during this crisis.
Our first fundraiser is for the DC area. JSI/WEI has selected the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) which, along with many of our country’s food banks, is overwhelmed and needs our support. AFAC provides 2,500 Arlington families and individuals per week with dignified access to nutritious, supplemental groceries, free of charge; more than 35% of the individuals served are children and 14% are elderly. Since February, their referrals have increased by 30% as new families seek help during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our goal is to raise at least $5,000 for AFAC, by May 31st. As employees of JSI and World Education, we can help set the table for people in our communities and keep them healthy.
While this fundraiser is being organized by a group of JSI/WEI employees, the link is public so please feel free to share it with friends and family. Thanks for your support!
