2020 Day to Serve AFAC food drive

Day to Serve is a movement started in the mid Atlantic to motivate people to get involved in service events each September and October. It is an annual initiative that transcends politics and religious differences, and unites people of all faiths, races, cultures, and backgrounds with the shared goal of helping those in need and improving the communities where we live.

In 2020, most of the usual service opportunities are not feasible due to COVID-19 restrictions. Yet the need for help in our community has never been greater. In particular, an estimated 200,000 people – including many children – will experience food insecurity in our region alone.

You can help feed these families and individuals by inviting neighbors, friends, school classmates, work colleagues, and others to contribute food items and pantry staples between now and Saturday, Sept 26 at:
*1500 Wilson Boulevard
*1600 North Inglewood Street
*Harris Teeter on Lee Highway

There are a number of safe and convenient ways to help support our food drive for the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC), including serving from home by making a monetary contribution or lending a hand in person by donating a food item.
