CAN19: PGAL

Welcome to PGAL’s CANstruction page!
We’re excited to participate in this year’s AIA Northern Virginia CANstruction competition.
In this event, we join with fellow architecture and engineering firms in a friendly match-up of talents and ingenuity. Employee teams build large, captivating structures made entirely of canned food.
These amazing creations will be on display Oct. 4 to Oct. 13 in a public art exhibit at Washington Dulles International Airport before they’re disassembled and donated to the Arlington Food Assistance Center. Nationally, CANstruction events have donated more than 40 million pounds of food to local food banks since 1992.
This is the fifth year that PGAL is participating in this terrific event. Our previous submissions — “Illuminating Hunger CAN make a Difference” and “Parade Away Hunger” — won awards for “Structural Ingenuity,” “Most Cans” and “Best Meal.” But even more important, over the past four years PGAL donated more than 22,000 canned goods and nearly $26,000 to AFAC, thanks to the generous contributions of our friends and supporters.
We hope we can count on your support again this year as we come together to help our neighbors in need.
