AFAC Gleaning at Local Farmers’ Markets in 2022

We are excited to pick up donations from Farmers’ Markets once again! During the peak farmers’ market season, AFAC sends volunteers to glean or collect produce donations from vendors at the end of the market hours. This is a great partnership that brings farm fresh produce directly to families in need. This also helps the farmers reduce food waste for unsold produce.

For the 2022 growing season, AFAC is partnering with the FreshFarm and Field to Table organizations to glean produce at the following markets:

• Cherrydale: Saturdays from April 16 to November 19
• Lubber Run: Saturdays from April 16 to November 19
• Courthouse: Saturdays from May 7 to November 19
• Westover: Sundays from May 8 to November 20

By the end of the season, tens of thousands of pounds of farm fresh food is collected and given out to families in need!
