Empty Bowls 2021 (Virtual)

, Click here to go to the Empty Bowls Virtual Event page→ Every year on Super Bowl Sunday, members of the community gather for our annual Empty Bowls event at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church to enjoy soups prepared by local restaurants and ceramics crafted by local potters. Due to the ongoing pandemic, we will be hosting this year’s event virtually. More and more people in our community are facing food insecurity than ever before. Many are struggling to feed their families, leaving bowls empty on the dinner table and having nothing to eat. The Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) is devoted solely to providing dignified access to nutritious, supplemental groceries – free of charge – to our neighbors in need. AFAC makes it possible for vulnerable families in our community to eat well while devoting their limited resources to financial obligations such as housing, utilities, medication, and other basic necessities. Join us on Sunday, February 7 at 11:30am, where we will premiere a special Empty Bowls video, featuring a message from AFAC Executive Director & CEO, Charles Meng, highlights from previous events, chefs sharing their own soup recipes, and more. This virtual event will be available for FREE. Please RSVP at the bottom of this page to let us know you are planning on attending. We are also selling sponsorships and “tickets” for the event. 100% of the proceeds will go towards helping AFAC feed our neighbors in need. The video link will be provided shortly before the event.
