Naming AFAC as a Beneficiary

Naming the Arlington Food Assistance Center as the beneficiary of a qualified retirement plan asset such as a 401(k), 403(b), IRA, Keogh or profit-sharing pension plan will accomplish a charitable goal while realizing significant tax savings. By making AFAC the beneficiary, the full value of the gift will be used to feed our neighbors in need. Simply request a beneficiary designation form from your plan administrator and designate the Arlington Food Assistance Center as your beneficiary.

Additionally, if you have an insurance policy that is no longer needed for the purpose it was originally purchased, you may wish to change the beneficiary to the Arlington Food Assistance Center. This may enable you to make a significant gift to AFAC without using any of your estate’s capital.

Please consult with an attorney or tax advisor to determine which giving opportunity is best for you.
