Leon has been volunteering with AFAC for about 3 years. So far in this calendar year alone, Leon has donated over 250 hours of his time to AFAC.

You can often find Leon hanging out here at AFAC with Wayne as they deliver food to our offsite distribution locations. On days Leon volunteers, he arrives as early as 7:00am to help load food for our other distributions. Wayne says, “Leon is very reliable. He is always here and is always ready to help.”

On volunteering with AFAC, Leon says, “volunteering is something we all should do. AFAC does marvelous work, helping out so many families. I am able to give back and it gives me something to do. I like hanging out with the guys in the warehouse. They are like friends and brothers – we laugh and joke and have a great time.”

Leon also helps out during our major food drives, such as Can-struction, Letter Carriers, and Boy Scouts food drive. “My first Boy Scouts food drive, I had never seen and packed so many cans in my life. It was all worth it and was very rewarding.”

Thank you Leon for your dedication to AFAC!
